Sylvia Van Hossen is one of the Four Main Heroine's of the series. She is a noble of the Flemish Principality of Eastern Europe, who is also the sparring partner/fiancée of Teppei Arima. She is very skilled in sword fighting and enjoys her bouts with Teppei and she is a bit reserved who is trying to understand Teppei as a friend first. She is the elder of the two daughters of Vincent Van Hossen, the head of the Van Hossen family. Sylvia is the best friend of Charlotte Hazelrink, the Princess of Hazelrink. She is also the captain of the Flemish military Calvary.
While she grew up Flemish, she has not spent much of her mature life in that nation and attends school in Japan.
Appearance[]
Sylvia is a slender woman with a definingly curvaceous body and a particularly large bust. She has long blond hair that is generally put up in a bun and violet eyes that sometimes appear grey in certain lighting.
She also wears armor with breastplates, pauldron's, greaves, heel-like sabatons with her sword at her hip.
Personality[]
She is a hard woman with high standards and has a tendency to be outwardly repulsed by Teppei. She has difficulty expressing her feelings around him and is better with actions than words. She loved her late mother very dearly but was unable to cry at her funeral. Her feelings for Teppei are similar to those she has for her mother's memory.
History[]
Before the series started, the relationship between Silvia and Charlotte Hazelrink was shown that they are childhood friends. Not much is known about her past but was revealed that she lost her mother at a young age, just after her little sister was born. It was later, that she enrolled in the same private academy as Charlotte, where she later meets Teppei Arima.

Sylvie usually dominates Teppei when in a duel, though she just wins by a mere half-second showdown. In the ninth episode, she admits to Seika Hōjōin that she could not understand her feelings towards Teppei, and in the 11th episode shows her true feelings to Teppei with a kiss.

Trivia[]
- The name Sylvia means "from the forest" and "spirit of the wood".
- On September 24, 2010, the anime studio Hoods Entertainment under the name "Public Enemies" released a adult OVA with Sylvia as the main heroine and contains an original story with various erotic scenes.
- In the anime, Her Seiyuu is Megumi Toyoguchi but in the OVA she has her VN's Seiyuu Erika Narumi.

- In scenes when she was still a child, as well as the last scene in the show where a town sign is featured, the words written on paper and on the sign appear to be a European language. German or Dutch is a highly probable language, as it lacks complex characters used in Eastern European languages. Given her name, it's more likely that she's of Dutch-German heritage.
